AUG 2, 2023 | Preparing a Request for Time Extension
In our upcoming webinar, members of SmartPM will explain various techniques that have been utilized to prove delay, impact, and disruption on construction projects. We will review recommended best practices when preparing, submitting, and reviewing a request for a time extension on a commercial construction project.
A Windows analysis is a retrospective schedule analysis technique that typically utilizes contemporaneous schedule updates in conjunction with project records such as progress reports and other contemporaneous data to identify and quantify changes or delays to the project’s as-built critical path.
This methodology models actual performance through computer-generated schedules developed during the project at periodic intervals, adding specific activities (fragnents) that model delays and impacts occurring during that interval.
This method utilizes a modeled event or events to an unimpacted schedule to determine the potential impact of that event(s) on the longest path and project completion.
